Warm Your Floor’s collection of snow melting mats are designed to provide convenient and efficient snow and ice management solutions for driveways, walkways, and patios. The snow melting mats offer reliable performance, seamlessly integrating into various outdoor spaces to eliminate the need for manual snow removal. We carry a variety of mats tailored to meet the needs of residential and commercial environments.

How snow melting mats work

Heated driveway mats function through the conversion of electrical energy into heat, which is then distributed uniformly across the surface of the driveway.

Embedded heating elements: Conductive heating elements are embedded within the mats. When electricity passes through these elements, they generate heat that rises to the surface.

Optimal Heat Dispersion: This heat is distributed evenly to melt snow on contact and prevent ice from bonding to the driveway surface, ensuring efficient snow melting capabilities.

Temperature Control: Snow melting mats come with temperature control mechanisms. These systems activate the mats when temperatures drop to a certain point, maintaining the surface temperature just above freezing to efficiently manage snowfall.

Installing snow melting mats

Installing heated driveway mats may appear daunting, but with the right guidance, it is a straightforward process. The steps laid out below are intended to be a general guide. Please reference the installation manual for your specific product for complete instructions.

Determine layout: Sketch a plan of your driveway, walkway or patio and decide where the mats will go, taking into account areas with high foot traffic or vehicle movement.

Prepare the area: Clean your area and remove any debris to create a flat surface for the mats.

Lay and secure the mats: Roll out the mats according to your layout plan, securing them in place, typically with adhesive or fasteners.

Connect to power: Safely connect the mats to an electrical source, making sure all connections are waterproof and in accordance with electrical codes.

Install top layer: Install the top layer material - typically this is concrete, asphalt, or pavers.

Test the system: Before the onset of winter, conduct a test run to ensure everything is functioning correctly.

Heating residential & commercial areas

Snow melting mats offer versatile applications for both residential and commercial use. In residential settings, they are commonly installed in driveways, walkways, and stairs to prevent the accumulation of snow and ice, ensuring safe and accessible pathways for homeowners and visitors.

In commercial contexts, snow melting mats can be used in parking lots, sidewalks, loading docks, and entryways of businesses, ensuring that these high-traffic areas remain clear and safe for employees and customers. They can also be valuable in outdoor seating areas, adding additional warmth and comfort to patios in cooler seasons.
