DITRA-HEAT twisted pair heating cable is designed to snap into DITRA-HEAT uncoupling membrane.

Manufactured by Schluter-Systems, EMF-cancelling DITRA-HEAT radiant heating cable installs directly into DITRA-HEAT or DITRA-HEAT-DUO cable installation membrane (sold separately) for use under tile or stone flooring.
Additional benefits include:

•  3-stud spacing is standard spacing (generates 12.7 Watts per square foot)

    •  NEW alternate spacing is now an option for more heat output

•  Low profile of 4.8mm for cable and 5.5mm with membrane

•  Compatible for shower floor and benchtop installation

•  Significantly reduced installation time. No self-leveler required!

  IMPORTANT Information

  • Do not purchase a heating cable the same size as the area to be tiled; this will be too much heating cable!
  • Be sure to only measure the open floor area and not under objects such as cabinets and tubs.
  • Never CUT the heating cable. This would change the cable resistance and could lead to a fire.

 

Cable spacing of 3 studs is standard, but closer spacing of 3-2-3-2 provides more heat or allows you to “use up” extra cable if you have too much. 4 stud spacing is NOT recommended.

Running cable is more difficult/time consuming than installing mats. 

Installation Steps:

All substrates must be clean, even, and load bearing. Bond inhibiting surfaces must be removed prior to the application of DITRA-HEAT.

Note: Minimum tile or stone format is 2" x 2" (5 cm x 5 cm).
