xThe DITRA-HEAT-E-RS1 Smart Thermostat is easy to use with intelligent, adaptive control and makes controlling and monitoring your DITRA-HEAT floor warming system convenient and accessible—from any location—on your smartphone or via voice through home assistants like Google, Alexa, and Apple HomeKit.
The DITRA-HEAT-E-RS1 Model DHERT105/BW Smart Thermostat has an all-new design featuring a sleek design with a mirror-finish, and third-party integration with popular voice and home assistants to easily add floor warming into your smart home capabilities and easily control the DITRA-HEAT-E-HK heating cables (either 120 V or 240 V).
Floor sensor wires (2) are included with every Ditra-Heat floor heating cable so there is no sensor wire included with the thermostat.
The thermostat features a built-in Class A ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) and is operated via touchscreen controls and features a pre-set schedule for convenience, which may be programmed to fit your schedule. When connected to WiFi, the thermostat provides convenient monitoring and adjustment of the floor warming system via the web or mobile app. Two heating cables may be connected to the thermostat, up to the total heating load limit of 15 amps. The DITRA-HEAT-E-RR power module (Separate circuit required) may be used in conjunction with the thermostat when the heating load exceeds 15 amps (e.g., in large floor applications) to maintain a single point of control.

Please refer to the Interactive User Guide and Schluter®-DITRA-HEAT Installation Handbook for complete DITRA-HEAT system installation instructions.
The power supply must be shut off and all electrical connections must be made by a qualified electrician, according to the electrical and building codes effective in your region.
- Loosen the screw at the bottom and remove the faceplate from the power base
- Connect the heating cable to the load terminals and the power supply wires to the line terminals located on the back of the thermostat. Connect the heating cable ground wire to the grounding screw in the electrical junction box.
- Connect the temperature sensor as shown in the instructions included. Use the floor temperature sensor supplied with the DITRA-HEAT-E-HK heating cable(s). Any other type of sensor used needs to be 300 volt rated and meet the other requirements of the electrical codes in your region. Floor Sensor is included with Heating Cables not with the thermostat.
- Use the screws provided to secure the thermostat to the electrical junction box.
- Replace the cover and tighten the screw at the bottom.
- Power up the thermostat. After performing a test sequence, the thermostat should display the floor temperature. If not, refer to the troubleshooting guide in this manual.
Note: Two DITRA-HEAT-E-HK heating cables can be connected and controlled by a single DITRA-HEAT-E-RS1 Smart Thermostat if the total current is less than 15 amps. The heating cable leads must be wired in parallel according to applicable electrical and building codes. Multiple DITRA-HEAT-E-HK heating cables over 15 amps cannot be connected to a single DITRA-HEAT-E-RS1 thermostat. Additional DITRA-HEAT-E-RS1 Smart Thermostats must be used or the DITRA-HEAT-E-RS1 Smart Thermostat may be combined with the DHE-RR-2/BW power modules.
